Media Madness! - My Nice Little Scrapbook

I thought I'd keep track of anything that appears in the media about the book here. Have a look. You might find something of interest, even if you're not my mother. And if any of my family and loved ones have paper copies of the Canadian stuff, send it on! Links are no fun in a scrapbook. (For March to the end of April see Part 1 - this thing was getting way too big with all the scans so I chopped it in two.)

Zoomer Magazine (online version) - Interview

In a state of near-exhaustion, I answered questions for Athena McKenzie (great name!) of Zoomer when I was in Vancouver this May. Here is the result in five questions. Plus the book got called 'hilarious and dark', which made me smile. Take a look.

Seymour Hamilton's blog - sound cloud interview

Seymour Hamilton is a writer of heroic fantasy who got in touch with me after reading my National Post blog article about my days on the hippified North Mountain in Nova Scotia, an area we both know well. We recorded this interview over Skype one summer evening. Here it is.

The Globe and Mail, Books Section - Tiny cute article

I was asked if I had a story about a book that holds romantic significance for me. Strangely, Nick Hornby's novel about a disintegrating marriage fit the bill. Here's my story:

The Globe and Mail - review

Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo!! A positive, full length review in The Globe! I went mad with joy when I saw this. I wish I had a paper copy to scan, but because I was back in Dublin by the time this appeared, I've only seen the online version. Here it is: behold.

The King's County Register - Interview/review

This paper is based in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, which is the setting for Cinnamon Toast and the End of the World. Pretty neat! Links are no fun, but I wasn't able to get ahold of a paper copy here in Dublin. Still, here it is.

The Irish Examiner - interview (with several others)

I was interviewed by the wonderful Sue Leonard as part of her article on writers and social media in The Examiner. The original article was too big to scan properly, but you can get the full version here. And, yes, I made that goofy face on purpose.

The Halifax Chronicle Herald - interview

It was a big thrill to get a feature about Cinnamon Toast in the Herald, seeing as I'm from Halifax, more or less. And I really like this article. However, I'm not sure I'm mad about the headline. At least it wasn't 'Yummy food in a yucky read.'

National Post Blog, 'The Afterword' - four articles

In mid-May I spent a week as a 'guest editor' on the Canadian National Post blog, which made me very happy indeed. This meant I had an article published every day for the better part of a week. I'll be recycling all of these on my own blog at some point, but here are the originals: 1) My Anti-Launch  2) Daruma's Other Eye 3) Throw Yourself a the Ground and Miss 4) Life at the Dome
